CASA Google Scholar
CASA (Campus Activated Subscriber Access) is a remote access extension of Google Scholar’s Subscriber Link Program. It provides off-campus users with one-click access to all their institutional subscriptions directly through Google Scholar search results.
This service works for subscribed content (e-journals and e-books) from main publishers such as ACS, AOP, ACM Digital Library, APS, Cambridge University Press, Elsevier, Springer, IOP, World Scientific Publishing.
How to use it?
- From a CERN IP, visit Google Scholar and find an article. If CERN has access to this article, it will show the link to the full content on the publisher's website. Google Scholar records the affiliation between your device (laptop, mobile phone, desktop, etc.) and your institution.
- The next time you use the same device to visit Google Scholar from off-campus, Google Scholar will remember the affiliation from the first visit and access the publisher's website as if you were on a CERN IP.
- The off-campus access is valid for a period that varies from 30 to 120 days depending on the publisher, and can be later renewed by simply visiting Google Scholar from a CERN IP.
